Loop curtains

Curtain preparation

Take the dimensions of your curtain. On all sides, mark with iron, pin, then stitch the hems at the top and on the sides. On a curtain of light, unlined fabric, opt for a double tucked in that will keep the whole thing. With a heavy fabric, a simple return is enough. Mark it with an iron and poke.

Making passers-by

Choose falls from the curtain, a wide braid of upholsterer or a more rigid canvas to make your passers-by. To ensure that your curtain is effectively held on the rod, count a loop every 20 cm and distribute them, taking care to provide one at each end of the curtain.

The step by step

1

In the fabric chosen for passers-by, cut the determined number of strips of 10 x 25 cm.

2

Fold the loops in place, right sides together, crosswise and stitch them all the way down.

3

Flatten the seam with an iron, turn the loop over on the right side and iron, taking care to place the seam in the center.

Laying on a flat head

4

On the top of the curtain, pin a 3 cm flap and iron it.

5

Fold the loops in half lengthwise by placing the seam inside, then distribute them and pin them on the top of the curtain by sliding them under the flap to a height of 1.5 cm.

6

Stitch along the entire length flush with the sharp edge of the flap, taking all the thicknesses together. Then install your curtain on the rod.

7

The next day, pin the bottom hem, unhook your curtain and stitch.
