My favorite room: the kitchen

The kitchen is the living room par excellence, one where you regain your physical and mental strength, while satisfying your senses. A place of orality, cooking refers on a psychoanalytic level to the mother and the emotional dependence it implies. Whether you hang around or get active in this place, you are looking above all to regress to the stage where you were completely taken care of and fulfilled! But it is also the place of conviviality because we prepare everyone's meals and recognition (the one who prepares the meals is the central actor of the room!). Whether you cook solo or pamper others, you are looking for comfort. It's your favorite room : this reflects your sensitivity and your capacity for empathy with others. Your joyful sensuality makes your presence pleasant, and you are keen to receive well. Cooking is a way for you to express your creativity. But being governed by the emotional can also lead you to fear separation, that of people and places. Watch out for a certain propensity to flee conflicts, which can also make you stagnate in life. A little history : long ago, the kitchen was the only room in the house where it was good. The presence of the chimney where the cauldrons heated gathered and comforted. The brass shone on the walls, large cupboards covered the four walls. Meals were taken there on a large table placed in the center, only the bourgeois were served in the dining room. This conviviality came back to us through the United States and the fashion for American kitchens, open to the show. Not always practical (lack of storage, problem of cooking odors), these remain the prerogative of small spaces today. In the larger apartments, the kitchen has grown in size to become again like the friendly places of yesteryear. Fashionable styles : there is little limited to very expensive Italian and German kitchen designers, design has become more democratic. Large popular brands, such as Conforama and Ikea, now offer red or royal blue kitchens, in shiny coatings evoking Chinese lacquer. The kitchen is more than ever a room where trends are expressed! Another mode, that of steel which reflects a concern for hygiene and sharpness. The lighting, more and more meticulous, incorporates the lights from the living room (paper lanterns, chandeliers with pendants). The vogue for naturalness and ecology is also expressed in the kitchen: large wooden logs as a worktop, enamel sinks as in the country kitchens of yesteryear ... a real nostalgic return to childhood.
